Mr. Debendranath Sarangi has been on the Board of UMPESL Limited as an Independent Director since September 2014. He is a retired IAS officer (1977 batch) from the Tamil Nadu Cadre. While in service, he has held high-level responsibilities in several departments including that of Chief Secretary. He was the Chairman of Tamil Nadu Transport Development Finance Corporation Limited, Chairman of Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited, on the board of various Government undertakings and also a nominee Director of some companies, including Titan. Mr. Sarangi holds M.A. in Political Science from University of Delhi and M.Sc. in Economics from University of Swansea, U.K.
